Introducing Hua Yi: A Unique Blend of Tradition and Modernity

The project spans fifteen floors, with the first floor serving as the hall space and the remaining floors housing the rooms. Each floor measures 15 meters long and 28 meters wide, totaling an impressive 6000 square meters. The first floor boasts a height of 4.5 meters, while the remaining floors maintain a height of 3.5 meters.

Hua Yi's design is characterized by its emphasis on the central axis, creating a sense of depth and sequence in the space. The hotel's interior features wood finishes, cloth, stainless steel wire, metal, and stone, adding to its luxurious and artistic ambiance.

One of the main challenges faced during the design process was the integration of traditional culture with modern lifestyle. Lichen Ding and the design team carefully refined and integrated these elements, resulting in a harmonious and captivating space. Additionally, time pressure was a significant factor, with the entire project completed within a tight 10-month timeframe. Despite this constraint, the team successfully provided practical design and construction solutions without compromising on artistic quality. Lastly, the project had to be completed within a limited budget, requiring the use of simple materials and processes while still ensuring a remarkable overall effect.

Hua Yi offers a unique and immersive experience for its guests. The design focuses on the combination of movement and quiet, openness and privacy, creating a space that can be enjoyed both actively and contemplatively. The hotel's design draws inspiration from the eight scenic spots in Chongyang, incorporating local culture and living habits to provide guests with a truly authentic and memorable stay.

Completed in February 2018, Hua Yi has received recognition for its exceptional design. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2019. This prestigious award acknowledges Hua Yi's outstanding creativity, resourcefulness, and contribution to improving the quality of life through its incorporation of art, science, design, and technology.
